We Believe

Good health is physical, spiritual, emotional, mental and financial well-being,

In creating a healthy home environment by helping Minority women and children focus on how they take care of themselves, so they can nurture others in their homes and their communities

That good health involves an integration of holistic health practices and western medicine to improve health outcomes.

In preventing illness through lifestyle changes, education, self-empowerment, access, appropriate treatments and interventions, and blending solutions that work for Minority women and children.

That the lifestyles or financial and educational status of Minority women and children must not matter in our ability to implement health decisions or access to health services.

"Teach a man, you educate an individual. Teach a woman and you educate a family"

- African Proverb

"The harvest is always greater than the seed."

Join us as we create a space for Health and Healing through sharing what really matters, our time with each other.  Through partnerships with community groups and agencies,   SOW will work with women and children to address the disproportionate number of minority families suffering from heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, mental illness and obesity.  Our goal is to change health disparities through education, lifestyle change and physical activity with an emphasis on walking/running and yoga.
